Juan Plaza is PhD in Communication by the Pontifical University of Salamanca and University Expertise in Non Sexist Treatment of Information (University of Jaume I, Castellón). He is professor at the Faculty of Communication of the Pontifical University of Salamanca, where he teaches Writing Communication and Information. He has been for three years Director of the postgraduate courses Gender and Communication and member of the Publicity Observatory and Mass Media. His main research is devoted to the study of men and women images in mass media from a gender perspective. Research and teaching are being complemented with the use of e-learning (Moodle).
Now leads the research group Media and gender, which has developed among others, the project that he led himself entitled Women as protagonists of the information in newspapers: a comparative analysis in national newspapers and in the local newspapers of Castile and Leon. Just arrange a book entitled The representation of women in contemporary television and film.
